
KENYA SEED TO EXPAND PRESENCE IN MT. KENYA REGION
Kenya Seed Company staff are on a week long tour of duty participating in a farmer’s field day and responding to questions from farmers in Meru County. The Ag.Managing Director Mr Fred Oloibe is leading the project in Meru region agricultural food business events through marketing of our certified seed products as the company plans to expand our business in the region. The initiative is part of the company’s effort of achieving the government directive of the Big 4 Agenda with food security being one of it’s pillar. It aims to support the community increase their crop yields which is mainly horticulture and vegetables purchased through our subsidiary Simlaw seeds. Simlaw and Kenya Seed have a branch in the county.
The region is one of our key business zones. The 3 key events which involve the company and allied agricultural organisations will enable us serve our farmers and communities within this region. The company also works with farmers in the region on Sunflower growing and will have a farmer’s clinic in the region offering advice on crop management and enquiries on Kenya seed products. This comes at a time the companys plans to venture into the Mt Kenya Region to promote our products.
Kenya Seed seeks to invest in the community by not only its products but through investement by adding value to the farming business. Food security is an essential focus of the company and as part of the initiative of the big 4 agenda.
